“WOW, WOW, WOW, where do we start? We have just returned from an amazing five-night skiing trip having stayed at The Mazot. The chalet is cosy, clean, comfortable and very romantic.” JH, 2015

The Mazot is an adorable, 200 year-old, luxurious, self-contained tiny ski chalet offering romantic skiing for two. It is ideal for short breaks and honeymoons and, not surprisingly, has been voted ‘top couples’ ski accommodation in Europe’ by Easyjet in-flight magazine.
This privately-owned mazot, which sits alongside Chalet Perdu and can be booked with the chalet or separately, has been lovingly converted into a secluded, super-stylish traditional Alpine hideaway. Guests step through a tiny arched door, opened by an ancient key, into a Heidi haven of ancient wood. The Mazot has a private terrace and balcony with table and chairs and sun loungers.
There is just the one bedroom in this miniature ski chalet, complete with king size sleigh bed, choice of feather or anti-allergy duvet, and fine crisp bed linen. The towels are enormous and fluffy, and there are complimentary robes and slippers as well as a hair drier. The Mazot even has its own luxurious underground bathroom and dressing room with free standing claw-footed bath and separate shower. It’s amazing what they have managed to squeeze into this gorgeous space.
The Mazot is too small to be a catered ski chalet but is offered on a B&B-with-champagne tariff when booked separately from the main chalet. Each morning a cowbell rings at the door and a large basket of breakfast goodies is left by the chef, stuffed with fruit, fresh pastries, warm bread, yogurt, and a steaming pot of coffee. Champagne is left each day in a snow-filled iron cauldron on the balcony, ready for your return from skiing.
Lovely individual mazot cakes and macaroons are baked each day too, and there are tea and coffee making facilities plus a microwave and fridge, but dinner is not included. There are numerous fine restaurants within 200m or you can have a snowy adventure and travel up the mountain through the forests by piste basher and dine in mountain restaurants on the high pistes. The Chalet Perdu housekeeper can book these in advance for you.
Alternatively you can book an après-ski alpine menu for supper including a cheese platter and deli board with mini tartlets and salad and a box-baked cheese – perfect if you don’t want to go out for dinner and have had a long mountain lunch. This is priced separately.
This little ski chalet has its own private outdoor hot tub on a raised deck with fabulous views. Les Gets also has an excellent health spa offering a wide range of pampering and massage treatments as well as a Clarins beauty salon just 20m from the mazot.
Nope – The Mazot is strictly a child-free zone, for adults on a wonderfully relaxing, romantic break only.
The sense of total privacy and the gorgeously cute interiors.
The lack of catering, but you can have breakfast and afternoon tea and early suppers all delivered to you in the privacy of your own private bolthole — plus Les Gets has heaps of lovely restaurants, all just a short stroll away.
LOCATION
This little Les Gets ski chalet is located in the heart of the resort, just 100m from the main lifts, 200m from the ice rink and 50m from the nursery slope. Everything is just a few footsteps away and there is no need for a car or in-resort transport.

Après-ski drinks at the Arctic lodge just beside The Mazot are a must. My favorites are icicle whisky or mulled wine, served in wooden goblets while you are seated on reindeer skins round a central fire. Just heaven!
“We had the most wonderful stay at The Mazot last week. The chalet is perfect, with a private hot tub outside. We had champagne delivered daily and a delicious breakfast each morning. A big thank you to Rich and Liam, they did everything they could to make sure we had an amazing time.” ZH, 2015
