Who says the Alps are just for winter?
Many of the beautiful, luxury ski chalets in The White Chalet Collection open in the warmer months too, and a summer holiday in the mountains is a real treat.
There is the breathtaking scenery, there is wonderful flora and fauna, there are heaps of things to do, and the weather can be gorgeous – surprisingly hot, but fresh too.
Some mountain resorts are genuinely year-round resorts, if anything becoming even busier in June, July and August. These include Zermatt, Megève, Morzine, Les Gets, Chamonix and Verbier.
The summer-time activities they offer range from gentle walking to mountaineering, hiking, golf, zip-wiring, rock climbing, mountain biking, parapenting, tennis, swimming, farm visits, scenic train rides, you name it. And many of the resorts stage music festivals, or foodie breaks too.
