Guestbook quotes to follow — the mazot is new for the 2015/16 season.
Gorgeously converted traditional mazot
Peak: £8,995 sole occupancy for 6 guests inc private chef; self-catered for all other weeks, starting from £4,995
Montriond, Morzine
Sleeps: 6
La Petite Ferme is the adorable sister chalet to the ever-popular Ferme du Lac Vert ski chalet. It is a lovingly converted old mazot that has been beautifully reclaimed and styled, just like the main chalet itself. Fur cushions and throws abound, there is gnarly old wood everywhere and hints of the building’s former existence, but it is now super-cosy and the perfect mini-chalet for a small group.
Like its big sister chalet, La Petite Ferme oozes Alpine chic charm. Think fur throws, cow skins, giant twig-framed mirrors and old milk churns converted into lamps. There are cow- and deer-themed ornaments and nicknacks everywhere, plus old skis on the walls.
The mazot has three double bedrooms. Two have en suite bathrooms and the third is open plan with a separate shower room. Each is fabulously stylish and impossibly cute, with cow or deer themed nicknacks and Cowshed toiletries.
La Petite Ferme is a self-catered ski chalet in the summer but it can be booked fully catered or on a self-catered basis in the winter. It has a well-appointed kitchen which is open plan to the living area, and a private chef and host can be arranged if booked on a catered basis. If self-catered, delivery of meals and selective catering can also be arranged from the main house next door.
The mazot has its own private hot tub.
La Petite Ferme really suits adults more than children and is probably best booked by a group of six grown-ups.
The gorgeous cosiness and styling of this adorable Morzine chalet.
It is quite close to the main chalet, but it is very private and self-contained, and there is no noise to be heard from the main chalet at all.
LOCATION
La Petite Ferme is situated next door to Ferme du Lac Vert in Montriond, a small hamlet right next to Morzine. It is just seven minutes by the chalet’s private transport to the Ardent bubble or five minutes in to Morzine itself.
GETTING THERE
Geneva airport is just 1hr 15 minutes away, so the mazot is ideal for short breaks or long weekends. Airport transfers can be arranged, at an extra cost.

As with the main chalet, the mazot comes with Nicolas, a resident ski guide, who is wonderful, has immense patience and will look after everything, from showing guests round the slopes to carrying skis and organising lunch stops. He splits his time between mazot guests and the main chalet guests. The mazot also has in-resort transport for both catered and self-catered bookings. This operates through the morning and evening, and will take you into town at night (they will arrange a taxi pick-up if you want to stay late).
Head for Switzerland — the Swiss part of the Portes du Soleil is always quieter and the slopes emptier than the busy French resorts including Avoriaz.

Remember, I have visited all the chalets we feature so can give you totally unbiased, independent advice on all of them. The prices I quote are also the list prices quoted by the chalets themselves, so there is no advantage in going to the chalets direct.
