Sainte Foy

La Marquise is a beautiful, contemporary ski chalet in the charming hidden gem resort of Ste Foy.
The skiing is fantastic and quiet in this relatively undiscovered part of the Tarentaise, plus it is less than 30 minutes from other top resorts such as Val d’Isère, Tignes and Les Arcs as well as La Thuile in Italy.
The chalet itself it stylish and opulent, with everything you could wish for – from Elemis spa to outdoor hot tub, private crèche and in-chalet boot fitting.
Contemporary mountain chic. This luxury ski chalet has a stylish feature fireplace suspended from the ceiling in the middle of the main living space, as well as white leather pouffes, slate and chrome bathrooms, and a funky hanging seat out on the balcony.
La Marquise has seven extremely spacious bedrooms including a quad bunk bedroom for children. Each of the doubles can be configured as twins as well as doubles, and every room has its own private balcony with impressive views, apart from one. They all come with gorgeous Bamford Bath toiletries, ensuite bathrooms or ensuite waterfall shower rooms with state-of-the-art slate and chrome fittings.
The chalet, like its sister chalet The Peak, is a fully catered chalet and places great emphasis on food. Breakfast consists of a cooked full English option as well as continental, while dinner is a four-course feast followed by coffee and petit fours. Afternoon tea is also served, with freshly baked cakes, and on the first night there is a champagne reception with canapés. There are specially selected house wines served during the meal, and it is possible to upgrade to the chalet’s award-winning Sommelier Selection.
The chalet has a fully equipped Elemis wellness centre including sauna, hammam, and massage and treatment room. It also has the luxury of a balcony hot tub with fabulous views across to Mont Pourri and the valley below.
Children are most welcome at La Marquise. Early teas can be arranged, as well as special birthday cakes if the chef is given advance notice, and there are plenty of toys, books and DVDs. Each bedroom has its own DVD player too and there is an extensive children’s DVD library available at the concierge, free of charge to catered clients. Cots are available as well as high chairs and stairgates if needed for little ones. The chalet also has a separate mezzanine with couch and large flatscreen TV and DVD player specially for children. Private nannies can also be arranged if required.
The resort of Sainte Foy also has an excellent Kids Club, run in collaboration between the lift pass office and ESF ski school. It welcomes children from 3-11 years in a newly refurbished facility in the centre of resort and is open 6 days, Sunday to Friday inclusive, with 1, 3 5 or 6 day childcare options available. It includes a mix of indoor and outdoor activities with snow shoeing, treasure trails, snow games, sledging, crafts, face painting, creative activities and more.
The gorgeous interior design and huge bedrooms with fabulous views. Plus the skiing in Ste Foy, but don’t tell everyone.
Not having enough time to do all the fantastic skiing that is on offer in Ste Foy itself and the surrounding resorts.
LOCATION
Ste Foy is a small resort and all accommodation is near the slopes and the main lifts up the mountain. La Marquise is just 150m away from the lifts and moments away from the centre of the resort with its lovely array of bars, ski shops and restaurants. Ste Foy is an excellent ski area in itself, but it is also brilliantly located less than half an hour away from a range of other top resorts, including Val d’Isère, Les Arcs, Tignes and La Rosière, extending the ski possibilities even further.
GETTING THERE
The nearest airport to this Sainte Foy chalet is Chambery, just 1hr 30mins away. Geneva, Lyon or Grenoble are equidistant, at 2hrs 30mins’ drive. Transfers are not included but the chalet has a fleet of minibuses so they can easily be arranged.
