Morzine
There aren’t many genuinely large chalets with lots of ensuite bedrooms that are keenly priced but La Ferme a Jules ticks all those boxes. There’s traditional wooden beams, wonderful views plus a wrap around balcony.
Dating back to the early 1800s La Ferme is full of alpine charm and character and although it is a big chalet it does feel cosy too.
The chalet has 10 ensuite bedrooms and all the rooms can be made into doubles or twins. 4 rooms are on the ground floor and 3 of these have additional bunk beds for children if required. There are 2 rooms on the first floor and 4 on the second.
FLOOR PLANS
The food served in this chalet comes under the simple yet delicious banner. You’ll have Vin Mosseaux and canapes on arrival with a 2 course meal on 5 evenings with a cheeseboard on 2 evenings. Yummy afternoon teas are left out for you with cakes, savouries, hot chocolate and vin chaud. An interesting addition is that you can opt to have a raclette meal (at extra cost) delivered to the chalet on the hosts night off.
A large outdoor hot tub is situated on the lower level of the chalet along with a sauna to ease away your post-ski aches. Please note that you have to opt in to use the hot tub in the summer months at an extra charge of €200 per week as part of an energy saving initiative.
La Ferme is a good chalet for children; lots of space plus a TV and games area.
I love this chalet for its old world charm and for the fact that you can sit up to 22 guests at once – if there are more than 22 staying there have to be two sittings.
Not a place for you to holiday if you prefer sleek contemporary alpine chalets.
LOCATION
It’s 3 minutes in a car or 15 minutes on foot to the nearest bars, restaurants and shops and 7 minutes by car or 35 minutes by foot into the centre of Morzine. The nearest ski lift is a 6 minute drive and the chalet offers a chauffeur service daily from 0800-2200.
GETTING THERE
Geneva is approx 1hr 30 mins away. Transfers to and from Geneva can be arranged through the chalet.

MY TOP TIP
Treat yourself to a traditional meal in La Grange in the centre of Morzine on one of the hosts night off. Lots of delicious Savoyarde specialities and shots of spiced rum afterwards! Don’t forget to book well in advance, though.
