‘Fantastic chalet and great location for our stay in Les Gets. The chalet has a really boutique feel and we loved the individual style and design of the different rooms. The best thing is the swimming pool and steam room where we spent most of our time post ski! Plenty of parking and great access into the Portes du Soleil. By far the best chalet we’ve stayed in.’
Boutique self-catered luxury chalet with indoor pool & hammam
Low season: £3850; Peak: £7915 self-catered (option to be catered if required)
Les Gets
Sleeps: 10 + 5
Les Gets is an infinitely charming, very French resort, and Chalet Valambrun is a hugely welcome addition to my portfolio of chalets there. It is a beautiful boutique lodge with fabulously stylish interiors, fantastic facilities and a great, central location. Just perfect.
This luxury Les Gets ski chalet has been furnished to the very highest of standards throughout, using brossé reclaimed wood, stunning designer pieces and hand-picked soft furnishings. Fur throws and velvet cushions abound, as well as Andrew Martin chests and tables and striking customized stag-themed art.
The open plan living room is flooded with natural light through floor-to-ceiling patio doors and features a linen L-shaped sofa with an Andrew Martin reclaimed oak and chrome coffee table. It all oozes style and deep luxury.
There are five individually designed bedrooms — 4 doubles/twins, 1 family room (with double + 3 beautifully hand-crafted bunk beds), then 1 bunk room (with 2 bunk beds). Each has its own unique look, using sumptuous wool and velvet throws, sheepskin rugs, Christian Lacroix and Ralph Lauren bedroom chairs and Andrew Martin furniture.
Toiletries, monogrammed gowns and slippers are provided, and all the main beds are either Superkings or can be split into singles (apart from Room 4 which is a fixed double). All the beds are also luxury Sealy pocket-sprung mattresses with dreamy Sanderson goose down duvets.
The master suite even has its own Thermorossi stove to cosy up to, as well as a flatscreen Sony TV, walk-in wardrobe and open plan rainforest shower – plus glass floor area with views down to the indoor pool.
This luxury Les Gets ski chalet is let on a self-catered basis, but excellent catering can be arranged if required. This can be in the form of breakfasts, afternoon cakes and evening meals brought to the chalet for guests to serve up themselves, or a professional chef who can cater in-house.
The chalet has a private indoor swimming pool with twinkly star-lights overhead and a hammam, as well as a poolside area for relaxing with a drink on loungers. A luxury outdoor hot tub will be ready for season 19/20, accessed from the spa area.
Children are most welcome at Chalet Valambrun. It has two sets of bunk-beds sleeping five children in total, plus a separate games room is going to be built for season 19/20. In the meantime, there are lots of lovely board games supplied.
The fabulous open-plan living area, the pool, and the lush soft furnishings.
The glass floor in the master bedroom overlooking the pool below is a little unprivate. You also have to make sure you have turned all the lights out in the spa area or they shine up into the bedroom through the night! It’s a minor quibble though, for what is a dramatic feature.
LOCATION
This luxury self-catered Les Gets ski chalet is located just on the roadside, around 10 minutes’ slight uphill walk to the main Chavannes lifts. Skis can be left at lockers beside the lifts to save carrying them up and down.

Don’t miss the best restaurant on the mountain: La Paika. It’s a stunning, rustic eaterie with a sunny terrace (located on the blue run ‘Vorosses’). They offer a la carte and also a delicious outdoor BBQ, with everything from langoustine to baby poussin. There is also a highly impressive, not-to-be-missed trestle table of patisseries for dessert.
Apréski bar is the best place post-ski. It’s located at the bottom of the Chavannes run and is open from 11am – 9pm with live DJs, games for kids and a rocking aprés atmosphere.
‘Thank you for such an amazing stay, everything was made easy and we really enjoyed the extra few nights catering. Chalet Valambrun is a cut above the rest, such a stunning chalet. We loved the main living space, loads of comfortable seating and the open fire and huge TV meant everyone was happy! The steam hammam was perfect after skiing all day and the boys loved the pool.’
‘Exceptional chalet. Lots of space and great design, private pool and steam room downstairs. Enjoyed exploring Les Gets and the chalet has a good location with off-street parking. Looking forward to returning.’
