Gorgeous Chalet Gouter has been specially designed and built by a seasoned chalet operator for rental, so as a result everything possible has been thought of. There’s huge amounts of space, big windows with big views, open plan dining, balconies, chill-out areas, boot room, outdoor hot tub – it just ticks all the boxes.
This luxury catered Morzine ski chalet is glisteningly new and ultra modern. Think smart leather sofas and dining chairs, designer lighting, sleek, industrial kitchen fittings, ruggedly hewn stone walls and beautiful wood everywhere.
The chalet is spread over four floors, giving you a huge amount of space. Features include an entire floor dedicated to a lounge area with log burner and TV, leading out to a balcony with views across Morzine. There’s also an open plan dining and kitchen level on the second floor with feature wooden dining table and kitchen island, an outdoor hot tub and outdoor dining space for entertaining in summer.
The top floor is reserved entirely as a tranquil space to relax and enjoy the views, with two sink-into sofas. In another area is a further sofa, log burner and flat screen TV. There’s also a bar and large patio doors opening out onto another balcony with great views up to la Pointe de Nyon.
There are four good-sized ensuite bedrooms on the first floor – three kings or twins and one family room with king/twin beds and full-size bunk beds. The family room has a bath/shower, and all the other rooms have showers.
There are two more rooms on the second floor, the same floor as the dining area and kitchen, with slanted ceilings and huge windows.
All the bathrooms are equipped with fluffy bathrobes and mini Scottish Soaps toiletries (the owners are Scottish!).
This is a luxury catered chalet, and the food and wine offering is excellent. Breakfast consists of juices, yogurts, fresh pastries and a daily hot option. There is afternoon tea with yummy homemade cakes every day, and a delicious four-course dinner is provided on five out of the seven evenings.
A sample menu might include a starter of sweet potato falafels with zingy salad, followed by pork tenderloin with a sage, apple and leak sauce with parmesan crusted roast parsnips, then a fondant au chocolat with melted salted caramel centre. All this, followed by a mighty cheese board featuring local cheeses such as Reblochon and Tomme de Savoie.
Tuesdays are self-serve evenings, when a meltingly gooey tartiflette is provided for you to enjoy in the chalet, then Thursday is chef’s night off – the chalet can recommend one of Morzine’s many fantastic restaurants.
Delicious vegetarian options are available too, and as for wine, a very decent house red and house white are offered with each meal, plus there is the possibility to upgrade to finer wines if desired.
This luxury Morzine ski chalet has an outdoor hot tub with wonderful views.
Chalet Gouter is extremely child-friendly. There is the family room with bunk beds, plus all the other beds split into twins for little ones. There is also a fancy dress box, for adults and kids. Everything child-related is also provided, from high chairs and cots to children’s toys (the owners have four children so know what is needed!).
The chalet can also recommend private nannies as well as a local nursery and kids clubs.
Meals can be adjusted for children too – just make sure any likes or dislikes are advised before-hand, so the chalet can prepare fresh, tasty meals that they’ll love.
The space, the views and the impeccable interior design.
Chalet Gouter is a little way from the very centre of Morzine, but it is all walkable — even in ski boots!
