Dazzling designer chalet with wow factor interiors and top views
Low/Mid season: £1300pp; Peak: £2,200pp catered
Morzine, Portes du Soleil
Sleeps: 10 + 2
Chalet Foret d’Argent is a breathtaking, 5-star designer chalet that puts the W into wow factor. Think massive mountain views, bleached wood, velvet sofas, snow-white stone bathrooms and a magical location. But it is also very reasonably priced, despite its gorgeousness. A real find.
This luxury catered Morzine ski chalet has style galore, from on-trend petrol blue velvet sofas to shaggy fur armchairs, glass floors, bleached wood everywhere and immense windows that draw the light and the mountain views in. It is named after the silver birch tree forest that the chalet backs onto in the Vallée de la Manche, and it has been interior designed by local architect Hervé Marullaz who wanted to make the most of its wonderful location.
The chalet spreads over six levels and has a stunning glass atrium running through the centre, maximising the light and mountain views.
Leading from the atrium is the open plan lounge with stylish feature fireplace surrounded by sink-into sofas. This opens onto another level which has a huge open kitchen and dining room with large oak table that looks out over a balcony with magical views of the mountains and forest.
There is also a bar with pool table that opens out onto a glass mezzanine with glass ceiling, and a snug area with more snuggly sofas and giant smart TV, but one of the loveliest things is the sound of the nearby river heard flowing from every room when you open the windows.
Chalet Foret d’Argent has five large bedrooms with Super King/twin beds and sleeps 10 adults plus up to two children. It has a superb master suite with private lounge on the top floor and four spacious bedrooms on the lower ground floors.
All bedrooms in this luxury Morzine ski chalet have big, beautiful en-suite bathrooms featuring rainforest showers, bath robes and lush bathroom products by The Bath House.
This luxury catered ski chalet offers fantastic, delicious food that hits the right spot with hungry skiers but, crucially, is not fancy, pricey Michelin-starred cuisine. The idea is to provide an affordable luxury dining experience, so great, unpretentious 4-course meals are served with an emphasis on quality and taste and generous portions. The chefs and hosts are excellent and experienced but not stuffy or over-professional.
Excellent quality, unlimited house wine is also served with each meal, carefully paired to work with the food.
Chalet Foret d’Argent has an outdoor sauna located in a cute, converted traditional wooden mazot in the garden, plus a large outdoor hot tub with Bluetooth speaks next to the river.
This luxury Morzine ski chalet can sleep two extra children in the master suite as well as in any of the other bedrooms. It is possibly a little too designer and full of sharp edges and glass for very little ones, but as a space for children to play in and discover it is fabulous. The chalet also serves early suppers and there is a separate TV area for children, together with TVs in two of the bedrooms.
The light and glass, the views, the sound of the river nearby, and the gorgeous styling.
If you like traditional and cuckoo-clock interiors, this isn’t the chalet for you.
Chalet Foret d’Argent is magically located beside the River Dranse in the Vallée de la Manche just outside Morzine, close to the Nyon cablecar.
Morzine is just over an hour from Geneva airport, and transfers can be arranged by the chalet at extra cost.
