“The reason we keep coming back is the consistently high standard of everything.” SN, Feb 2015
Luxurious, spacious ski chalet-cum-hotel located between five world class resorts
Pricing from €150-€300 per person per night
Sainte Foy
Sleeps: 20
Chalet du Rassel is a fabulous, huge, sociable, shared ski chalet, which not surprisingly gets booked up fast each season. The package is perfect: excellent food, complimentary transport to five different resorts including Sainte Foy, Les Arcs, Val d’Isère and Tignes, sauna, massage room, it even has a selection of the latest skis for rental.
The chalet sleeps 20 guests in 10 well-appointed en-suite bedrooms, but it is the knock-out living space with central fire place and huge dining room that really blows you away. A lovely, well-priced luxury ski chalet, with infinitely more charm and offering heaps more value for money than chalets just up the valley in Val d’Isère.
This ski chalet used to be a brewery, dating back to the 1880s. It is a giant structure, with a knock-out, giant living area with separate sofa’d zones around a big open log fire. The furnishings are cosy, eclectic and contemporary, from leather club chairs to sink-into sofas, deer-print cushions to designer lamps.
There are 10 en-suite bedrooms in this luxury ski chalet which are all spacious and contemporary, with beautiful oak flooring. They come with complimentary gowns and slippers, and each has a bathroom with Italian tiles and luxury fittings. Baths and showers in all.
Chalet du Rassel is a fully catered ski chalet and dining is an extremely social occasion, with guests sitting down around one big table in a separate open-plan dining area, which seats up to 20 guests. A four-course gourmet supper is served each night, prepared by a professional chef who is helped by 6 staff. The chalet aims to serve ‘the best food in the Alps’, and it is certainly extremely yummy. The menu is Modern European. A different red and white wine is chosen each night to complement the menu.
The chalet has a sauna plus separate treatment room for all sorts of lovely, restorative treatments at the hands of a local masseuse.
Chalet du Rassel is totally child-friendly, with a spacious living room for little ones to play, plus toys, high chairs, cots etc all available on request.
The giant living space, as well as the fact that the chalet seems to have heaps of staff – a professional chef, chalet manager, and six others to look after you and your needs. Being able to ski in several resorts in one week is a big plus too.
This ski chalet is quite close to the road, although the traffic is not heavy or noisy.
LOCATION
This Sainte Foy ski chalet stands on its own in 10 acres of its own farmland just outside the pretty Tarentaise resort. It sits above the trees and has lovely views of the surrounding mountains and local ski areas. It is also 300m from the road which links Bourg St Maurice with the higher resorts of Val d’Isère and Tignes. For skiing, you can choose from five world class resorts within 5-20 minutes’ drive of the chalet.

The chalet can organise private transfers from Geneva airport in their fleet of VW Caravelles, stocked with refreshments. Transfers take approx 2.5 hours. They can also pick up from Lyon, Grenoble and Chambery.
