Samoens, Grand Massif
Brio – sleeps: 12-16
La Terrasse – sleeps: 6
Petit Brio – sleeps: 4
Samoens is a real gem of a resort and this charming chalet is a great find, particularly for a large group as it can accommodate a total of 22 plus an extra 4 in the main chalet. And there’s a swimming pool for the summer.
Chalet Brio was built in 2008 by the parents of Josh who now runs the chalet together with his wife Denée. It’s in the traditional style but with every modern comfort. The chalet offers lots of flexibility as the main chalet has catered accommodation for up to 16 people plus a separate apartment, La Terrasse, has room for up to 6 people and another, Petit Brio, can take up to 4.
Chalet Brio has 6 ensuite bedrooms, one of which has an extra bed and another has a set of bunks so the chalet can sleep up to 15 – floor plans are below.
La Terrasse has three bedrooms and two bedrooms.
Petit Brio has two bedrooms and one bathroom.

Food is taken very seriously in this chalet with ingredients sourced locally where possible plus some foraging and the aim is to produce delicious food that looks good, tastes yummy and fills you up. Different hot options are offered every day for breakfast, afternoon tea with cake comes daily and a four course dinner with matched bottled wine is served on 6 nights. Restaurants can be booked for the chef’s night off.
There’s an outdoor hot tub plus a sauna and a gym. In the summer there’s a heated outdoor swimming pool – please note that this is shared with the other units in the chalet. There’s a private hot tub too for La Terrasse – one of the units.
Children are very welcome in this chalet and there’s a fabulous climbing wall to keep little ones occupied. Meals can be arranged to suit you and there’s a play area with Nintendo Wii as well.
I really like the flexibility of this chalet – the main part of the chalet is for 12 and you can add on the other two units to make a fabulous chalet for a large group.
I couldn’t find any! Perhaps not a chalet for those looking for a super contemporary stay.
LOCATION
The chalet is a 3 minute drive to the main lifts in Samoens, Morillon and Vercland, or a 200m walk to the free ski bus.
The town of Morillon is a short walk away and has a number of small shops, bars and restaurants.
GETTING THERE
Geneva airport is just 1 hour away from Samoens. The chalet can organise transfers, at extra cost.
