Aralia is a light-filled, contemporary, stylish ski chalet in one of my favourite resorts — St Martin de Belleville. It also has a sister chalet right next door, Aphylla, which can be connected to create a great space for a big group.
This luxury ski chalet is a new build but it has kept traditional chalet touches while introducing contemporary styling. The colour palette is soft greys and neutral tones, using local woods and textured natural materials. The wonderful living area has a large designer corner sofa and a stylish velvet loveseat where guests can sit and relax with pre-dinner canapés beside the glass-fronted log fire.
There are five bedrooms in this beautiful ski chalet, with the 5th being a bunk room that shares the en-suite bathroom with Bedroom 4, creating a family suite. All are en-suite, one with a bath and the rest with double head showers. There are plentiful The White Company toiletries and Egyptian cotton bathrobes and slippers are supplied.
Chalet Aralia is a fully catered ski chalet and uses fine-dining restaurant trained chefs. They are passionate about their food and take great care over menu design and the sourcing of great ingredients. Breakfast and afternoon tea are feasts, and delicious canapes are served before each dinner, which consists of three courses plus cheese and coffee with petit fours. Premium paired wines are on offer each evening with dinner, along with excellent additional wines in the open bar.
Chalet Aralia can also be taken on a self catering basis.
Aralia has a sauna and a lovely outdoor hot tub.
The chalet works really well for children, offering early teas, children’s books and games and welcome packs for little ones. They also have a games console and DVD library for children. It can install removable stair gates on the stairs to offer parents piece of mind, and it can provide high chairs and cots for under 2s. There is also an in-house nanny service available upon request at an extra cost.
The staff, the food and the location of this luxury ski chalet. It can also be combined with its sister chalet right next door, Aphylla, to create a great chalet for a big group, sleeping up to 18 people.
The living space is cosy rather than huge but has plenty of gorgeous, sumptuous sofas and chairs and space for 10. The bedrooms are slightly different in size too.
Chalet Aralia is set back from a very quiet road, just a 2 minute chauffeur-driven journey from the resort centre and the St Martin de Belleville lifts. It has nothing in front of it other than spectacular mountain views and views over the village
The nearest airport is either Geneva or Chambery. No transfers are included, but the chalet can arrange them.
