One of the top, high, snow-sure ‘Mayfair’ ski resorts, good for experts and intermediates alike.
Val d’Isère is part of the vast Espace Killy ski playground, which embraces both Val and Tignes. There really is something for everyone, from gentle greens and cruisey blues to easily accessible, lift-served off-piste.
Non-skiers can do yoga, cookery lessons with chalet chefs, go on hosted tours around Val (not missing out a sublime hot chocolate at La Maison Chevallot chocolaterie), or even try snowshoeing, husky rides, a visit to the ice rink, parapenting, bob sleighing, ice driving or Nordic skiing. Trips can also be organised to local cheese farms to see how Beaufort is made, and there is a local food market in Val every week on Mondays.
