La Vallée is a stunning designer apartment located beneath beautiful sister chalet The Nest. It has gorgeous interiors, it’s well-priced and it is in a great location overlooking the popular, family-friendly resort of Morzine in the heart of the Portes du Soleil.
This luxury ski chalet apartment combines the character and warmth of its 200 year-old timbers with superb, modern feature lighting, panoramic glass balcony doors and spacious, comfortable rooms. It has been carefully renovated by local artisans who have created a cosy space which is also full of character. There are gorgeously large sofas draped with soft, fluffy throws huddled round a traditional log fire. The place oozes style.
There are three beautiful rooms in La Vallée, all of them ensuite: one has a bath and walk-in shower, the other two just walk-in showers. Three extra people can be accommodated too — one room is a family suite (La Dranse), which has a separate room coming off it that has bunk beds. There is also a pull-out bed in the L’Ardoisière suite.
Each room comes with a full set of lovely L’Occitane toiletries (including shampoo, conditioner, shower gel, body moisturiser, hand moisturiser and soap, as well as nice extras such as body loofah, cotton wool pads and tissues). Slippers and gowns are also included.
La Vallée is a fully catered ski chalet. All of the staff have either had professional catering experience or are keen, knowledgable amateur cooks who are passionate about their food. Evening dinner service starts around 7.30pm with a complimentary drink from the bar and canapés. This is followed by a four-course meal including a local cheese board to finish. To accompany the meal there is a selection of excellent, free-flowing house wines.
Typical dishes include a tomato tarte tatin with rocket cream for starters, followed by stuffed loin of pork with an onion and apple jus served with lemon broccoli and potato and parsnip gratin, finished off with chocolate teardrops for pud. All delicious!
La Vallée has a private outdoor hot tub and a large sauna tucked away in a pretty little mazot at the bottom of the garden, reached by a candle-lit path. Just heaven! The sauna is shared with guests from The Nest, the sister chalet above La Vallée.
This luxury ski chalet is perfectly child-friendly. It has a safe, outdoor enclosed garden, great for snowmen-building, and it comes with board games, children’s DVDs and a Wii console.
The stylish interior design, the views over Morzine — oh, and the gorgeous sauna.
La Vallée isn’t traditional in the sense of checky gingham curtains and cut-out wooden hearts, so if that is your preference, it wouldn’t be right for you.
La Vallée is located in the beautiful hamlet of Le Cret, in the Montriond area of Morzine, only five minutes by private chauffeur to the Ardent telecabine — a really handy location to quickly access the heart of the Portes Du Soleil ski area.
It is south-facing and set on the side of the valley so has huge views from the living room and dining table down the valley overlooking Morzine and the slopes of the Pleney peak. It is the perfect spot to watch the pretty torchlit descent down Pleney which happens each week throughout the winter.
Geneva is the nearest airport and is around 1hr 15mins away. Transfers can be arranged by the chalet.
